Is there a scam pattern where someone calls/texts you claiming you called them? I did respond to the text to say I did not... that they must have a typo or the caller ID has been faked. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ (I've not made any outgoing call from the number in question since July.) image
Dinner is all thanks to Kat because I got home too bushed to be of any use (esp after a frustrating fight with a house lock that I have decided is gonna need a date with an angle grinder.) Bibimbapping! A good selection of our own #allotment bits on this: chard, kohlrabi, gherkin (as mini cues), shallot, and shiso... our own garlic in the meat too. (If I'd been more useful there may have also been some things with our own carrot, eggplant and zucchini too... as originally planned.) image
Bit of a faff of a day down the #allotment… ended up spending a lot of time watering, things are a bit parched and we have a long week of dry & hot ahead it seems. My main goal was supposed to be putting in 2 more of the low raised beds… but after I cut the timber to size I discovered I had not brought the required screws. So I moved on to doing some work on the front gate instead. The right one in the photo is properly hinged. The left one is just a pallet that needs turning into a gate. The mesh to the sides is just a temporary barrier. Not yet decided what the final solution for that will be (boards, mesh, a bit of both 🀷) Not sure whether to roof it or make it pergola-like and grow over it. A roofed/dry staging space seems useful. All in all it has been a very underachieving weekend. I was alas useless yesterday, and didn't come close to making up for it today. One of those weekends, overflowing with wasted potential. Was nice to be outin the sun for a few hours at least. image
We're waiting for Fish & Chips and this just parked in front of us.
Been very lightly playing with an LLM as an alternative to web search for coding queries and have just hit my first case (about 5th result/code) where it is outright confidently lying to me. Specifically it doesn't seem to know about the change=False argument to Django's ModelAdmin.get_form method. I asked if it was sure and to show me code for Django 5.2 and it confidently shows me the code that has been out of date since Django 2.1 (when it was introduced). This is "perplexity" AI I'm toying with, and only the free version. Maybe you've got to pay money to not be living in (checks notes) 2017 (release year of Django 2.0) Just to be certain I asked it to show me the function signature of ModelAdmin.get_form from version 5.2 and it spits out the <2.1 version - I asked about 2.1... still the <2.1 version. Does it even know what the fuck Django 5.2 is lol... But then I asked it when Django 5.2 was released and it got that right! Edit: removed my "has_changed" brainfart.
Running late with last week's #allotment postcard... or falling into a pattern which is sort of the previous Sat-Wed sorta period is up the following midweek. Anyway... in which the main news is that we get front and back (de)fences: Meanwhile, things continue to just grow.
Dinner is borscht. You can't beet borscht! (I think my mum has a recipe book called that.) image
Finally found time to process the #allotment drone photos from last week... image
uToob tells me I've been posting my silly #allotment videos for a year now.... so it's interesting to review back to my first post and reflect on just how much the site has progressed over the last year: [Edit to switch to the correct earliest video! Second time lucky...]
