Absolutely bizarre to me that, for a handful of people, all the #C64 nostalgia and love up to this point in time has apparently not been enough, where they feel threatened by the #C64U. Like they'd prefer to see Commodore frozen in amber rather than celebrated, iterated upon, and further enjoyed into the future. The majority of /r/c64 seem to be loving it, but the couple I've seen so far that reactive negatively to it are woefully melodramatic about it all. image
I get out of the grocery store and start loading my bags into the car, and this teenager with a clipboard shows up in my peripheral vision clearly asking me something. I pop an earbud out -- pardon? _"ARE YOU GOGINIGOEIORFJFE ON SUNDAY?"_ I pause for a sec trying to parse his dialogue... _"Am I... going... Sunday?"_ Then I glance at pin on his chest: "JESUS H CHRIST" I wave, _"Dude, dude, nah, I'm good."_ I'm having none of it. He grins and says "Okay, bye!" "Yeah... stay warm?" My man, Jesus himself would not be out here in this fucking cold. He would be disappointed in your lack of judgment.
