ICYMI: Ubuntu 25.10 'Questing Quokka' is available to download with GNOME 49, new apps, Rust-based security, and a whole heap more. #ubuntu #Linux #OpenSource
This is a scheduled post I am scheduling.
Ubuntu 25.10 is released this week, with GNOME 49, Linux 6.17, new apps, Rust-powered sudo, TPM-backed disk encryption and—drama klaxon—no more X11 session! #Ubuntu #Linux #OpenSource
Not a rhino, a rabbit or a rattlesnake (hssss) – Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is the "Resolute Raccoon" #Ubuntu #linux #FOSS
A story in two images. Just running it up the flag pole because from time-to-time, people do like to share their opinion that I cover GNOME too much on the blog. People perceive it as "bias", having "drunk Red Hat kool-aid", and other colourful descriptions. It's not quite that deep. I write about Ubuntu, and Ubuntu uses the GNOME desktop by default. That is why I cover GNOME-related stuff more prominently than, say, Xfce or Sway or YouTube-sired conspiracies over X11. Just sayin'.

Linux kernel 6.17 is released with gaming and graphics improvements, new security features, and even a bug fix for an issue dating back to 1993! #Linux #OpenSource #tech
