My #Ubuntu desktop in October 2008. The desktop dock is AWN (Avant Window Navigator) - I still use Firefox, Rhythmbox, VLC and GNOME Terminal. Seeing Second Life and Picasa there takes me back! Can't recall what the Windows icon on the dock launched as I didn't use VMs. Wine, perhaps? But the most dated thing in that screenshot is the panel shortcut for xkill. Modern handling shows a 'wait or force quit' dialog when apps hang. image
