What would Wikipedia be “rated”? If you had age-based parental controls installed on a computer, would you expect your kid to be able to use a Wikipedia app? I would expect so (It’s an encyclopedia! Knowledge is power!), but if you rate it literally according to something like OARS, it gets marked as unsuitable for children—because nudity and sexual organs and whatnot.

I have a bunch of files I need to move from one hard drive to another for boring reasons, and am wondering if this is a good time to finally rebuild my home server. I have an Intel NUC plus a Synology NAS for storage, and I mostly just run #Plex and #HomeAssistant. With Home Assistant, I’ve been a bit annoyed with the Docker image not supporting some of the add-ons you can use if you use Home Assistant OS. I wonder if I should run that directly on the NUC, and then Plex on the NAS? 🤔

I am looking forward to the big @Lucas @Moshidon 🇺🇦 🇵🇸 update! Custom timelines specifically is how I genuinely feel like social media should be designed; I am surprised the official @Mastodon app hasn’t aped that and leaned into it especially with both Threads and Bluesky shipping something similar. Eventually I’d love to see some UX iteration on the feature from either Moshidon or Mastodon proper, too; I think there could be some really nice, naturally interactions around curating your feeds. #Mastodon
