Making progress! In a corner of one of my "throw way too many different kinds of notes all in here" file (which of course I back up *QUITE RELIGIOUSLY and in multiple ways*), it turns out I *did* have password hints for 2 of the 3 email accounts! Woohoo!
Ofc, the 3rd is the one I use the most nowadays. 🙄 I probably wrote those hints before I set up the new account. Oops.
But still, it's progress.
So, let me see if I've got this right:
1) Thunderbird didn't export my email passwords
2) That wouldn't actually be a problem IF I could still log into my remote server, because that's where all those accounts were anyway. I could just change them to something new.
Except that I don't have that login, either. 🤦🏻
FML.
Okay, so I'm locked out of my own email until I either guess my password, or get back in as root.
Fucking hell.
Holy fucking shit, what the funking fuck. I backed up my Thunderbird (email program) profiles before nuking my old drive.
I assumed that would include the passwords to those accounts.
Why is it prompting me for my passwords? Which I don't fucking remember? 😰🤯
