Good grief. To make this scene work, I'm really going to have to write up (at least in my head) a whole bunch of back-history between Character A and Character B, even though Character B isn't even in scene! Only Character A is, but the nuances of how they'll describe things will all depend on shit that happened something like 12 years before. 🤦🏻 And here I thought I'd done possibly too much prep-work before starting the 1st draft. 🙄 #writing #AmWriting

Tonight's writing: 1:40 spent, 899 words written, including wrapping up another scene. Also, trimmed a bunch of old stuff from my outline. Didn't just wrap the one scene; I also made a little progress on another. Not sure I like the way it's going, though. Or where it'd be taking the whole plot. Goddammit, FedEx customer service says this ain't gonna happen. I'm gonna have to haul this stuff over there myself. Luckily the place has a concierge I can leave it with. So now this'll just cost me some time and effort instead of money. And I need to find a way to package it all up. Fine. 🙄

Hauled myself out the door, with a herculean effort. Made it to the FedEx store before they closed... only to discover I need to talk to customer service if I want to ship this kind of item. 😖

I wanted to go out and run an errand. But I was unshaven and needed a shower. So I shaved and took a nice, hot shower and got all clean. Now I feel like a very relaxed, honestly kind of tired, limp, wet noodle and the idea of putting on clothes and going out seems almost impossibly ambitious. Dammit. 😞
