After surviving genocide, famine, and indiscriminate bombing, we now live in a tent, trying to start from scratch. With President Donald Trump’s announcement of the start of the second phase of the ceasefire, civilians in Gaza were supposed to breathe a little safety. Yet international reports confirm that shelling occurred on the very first day of this phase. Once again, the gap remains wide between what is declared in conferences and what people live on the ground.

Every time international law is tested by a real human tragedy, the difference is revealed between being a true moral principle and being a selective tool used according to interest. When the suffering of an entire people is left without accountability, the failure is not only legal, but civilizational. Justice that is applied to the weak and suspended before the powerful loses its meaning and turns from a human value into empty rhetoric. image

Today, Osama, Yousef, and I made chocolate biscuit balls🍫 We crushed the biscuits together, laughed, got our hands messy, and they were so happy. Have you ever tried Gaza-style vermicelli? It’s very simple, but it gives warmth and the feeling of old family gatherings. It made me feel like I was sitting in my warm home, not in a cold tent. We gathered around it, cooked it over a wood fire, and for a moment felt the warmth amidst all the cold and wind around us.
