Spiced Rum Cask - Innis and Gunn - 5.5% ABV. B+ and a bit, Big and Rum forward. Malty and Oaky. Not bad #ale #beer #bier 3.3/5. Not my favourite brewery but that’s down to my tastes not their quality. That’s it for today.

Bothy - Cairngorm Brewery - 5.6% ABV. B+ and a bit. Malty with a hint of sweetness, hoppy bitter body with a complex bitter finish #ale #beer #bier 3.3/5. Interesting different reviews on Untappd, some love, some hate. Me, I like the difference.

Beers Of The Beano - Wednesday 08 October 2025 A rare after work weekday Beano. A German Rauchbier and sours from Caerphilly and Edinburgh. I moan about buses.

OPA - Otter Brewery - 4.5% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty, fruity with hints of Orange. Gentle Orange and bitter finish #ale #beer #bier 3.3/5. Big and body but I don’t think it’s hazy. Maybe should have rested for longer. Still Tidy Brew.

Newtowner - Young Henry - 3.5% ABV. B+ and a bit. Thin but not in a bad way. Orangey, sharp citrus with peaches and a lingering bitterness in the finish #ale #beer #bier 3.3/5. Light, summery session Ale. Shows its Australian roots. Brewed in the UK by Elgood’s.

White Velvet - Vault City - 6.0% ABV. B++, unusual aroma, fruity but sharp and complex with a coconut finish #ale #beer #bier 3.5/5. 2 out of 5 on The Vault City Sour Scale. Great but I really don’t know what to make of this one.

Berserker - Dark Element - 6.0% ABV. B++ and a touch, smooth very fruity, vanilla with a gentle sour and tartness. Wonderful #ale #beer #bier 3.6/5. Gentle with not a hint of it’s 6.0%. Brewed 10 feet away from me. Drink Dark Element Brew Co.
