The annual global shopping discount days have arrived. I don't happen to need anything :) What did y'all get this year, and which purchases did you postpone?
Jason Snell: @npub153g5...hjt3 "Once again, the only way forward is the Mac" The App Store era must end and the solution is already here. I wish that this would become the future. I don’t understand why people active *here* are switching to or even looking at Bluesky. (Speaking about tech folks) I do get why Twitter users may want to. But you’re in the most open, federated place possible in our current timeline. It only goes downhill.
The original #RWD (Responsive Web Design) books are available for free to read online. It's a sad story overall, with A Book Apart closing. But these classics did turn out very beautiful as websites. Two books, no longer apart. —
And I got to admit, #Xcode 16.1 seems to compile faster than 15.4
#JavaScript and #nodejs fans -- as a JS newb, I need a hint. I'm implementing a JS based plug-in system in an app. It uses Apple's JavaScriptCore engine. It comes with little batteries included, I inject a couple of global objects to produce a 'runtime'. I wonder where query parameters should go. Imagine an endpoint like: /execute-plugin/PLUGIN_ID?key=val I'm leaning towards a global `environment` or `env` object with {"key"="val"} in this case. Anything else that's less weird?
