Back in the day, the U.S. had a “whites only” immigration policy so baked into the system it was damn near invisible. Trump’s just slapping a MAGA sticker on it and calling it refugee policy. Now he’s using refugee funds—meant for people escaping U.S.-backed coups, wars, and climate disasters—to bring in white South Africans. Not because they’re in danger. Because they’re white. This is settler colonial logic on loop: white bodies get safe passage, Black and brown ones get cages, walls, or bullets. This would’ve been a five-alarm scandal under any other regime—but with this orange ghoul, it’s just another Thursday. He’s vomited so much outrageous shit into the public sphere that we’ve become desensitized. This is how fascism gets normalized—one racist, blood-soaked policy at a time. Don’t let this slide. Stay angry. Stay loud. Burn the illusion of “normal” to the fucking ground. #SettlerLogic #WhiteSupremacy #AbolishBorders #AntiFascist #FuckNormal
U.S. declares military zone around El Paso, allowing soldiers to arrest migrants
A sack of flour in Gaza is now going for $500. Let that sink in. That’s up from $350 last fucking week — and it was $100 a few weeks before that. Israel isn’t just dropping bombs. They’re weaponizing hunger. This is a starvation campaign. It’s cruel. It’s criminal. It’s genocidal. It’s easy to feel powerless watching this shit unfold, but we’re not completely toothless. Boycotts aren’t the end-all solution — but they are a weapon, and one that’s proven effective. Just ask Tesla how that’s going for them. McDonald’s is on the BDS boycott list, and unlike weapons manufacturers or some faceless bank, McD’s is everywhere. A visual action at a local McD’s puts the heat right in the belly of the beast — in cities, in the burbs, wherever. They’re selling food while people in Gaza starve. Make that contrast visible. Hit them where it hurts — their brand. Don’t just boycott. Fucking organize. Make it unignorable. #Gaza #StarvationAsWeapon #BDS #BoycottMcDonalds #ShutItDown
Back in 2006, millions of immigrants across the so-called U.S. walked off the job and into the streets for May Day — in what became the biggest mass strike in modern U.S. history. You probably never heard about it, because the media buried it. I was there. Here's what went down, and why it still matters. 🔗 #MayDay #2006 #ImmigrantStrike #GiganteDespierta #Anarchism #subMedia
Mohsen Mahdawi has been freed!
Every time I see a photo of a kid taped to a taxi dashboard or sitting on someone’s desk at work, I get it. As a parent, I fucking get it. We eat shit, we do garbage jobs, we bite our tongues—all because we're trying to make life suck less for our kids. It's primal. It’s universal. Doesn’t matter where you’re from or what language you speak—if you’ve got a kid, you’d do anything for them. So when I see another headline about #Gaza, about kids being slaughtered, I can't fucking breathe. I think about those parents—just like any of us—who can’t do anything to protect their children. Who are being systematically denied even that basic human instinct. It’s fucking unbearable. And no, I’m not posting this looking for a solution. I’m just full of rage. Full of grief. Feeling powerless watching the world let this happen. Kids who didn’t sign up for any of this, being murdered. This is fucking obscene. #IsraelMurdersKids image
#MovieNight pick for all you lovable degenerates: Mickey 17 by Bong Joon-ho (yeah, that Bong Joon-ho — director of Parasite, aka the best “eat the rich” film of the last decade). Mickey 17 is a wild-ass sci-fi comedy that juggles themes like colonization, workers’ rights, and environmental collapse—all wrapped in a sleek, weird-ass future. It's like Severance had a baby with Wall-E during a labor strike. Not as dark as Severance, not as masterful as Parasite, but still worth the ride. And seriously, if you haven’t seen Parasite yet... what the fuck are you even doing? Fix your life. This one’s fine for teens, but maybe not your toddler unless you want them questioning capitalism before they can spell it.
Last year I was scrambling to find a fucking keffiyeh and couldn’t get one anywhere. Fast forward to now—I’m staring at four boxes with like 700 #keffiyehs, all thanks to some serious international solidarity magic. Here’s the story: My homie Clifton went to the #WestBank, vibed with this shopkeeper in #Bethlehem, kept in touch, and when shit hit the fan and business dried up, the shopkeeper reached out for help. Clifton and Omrane Hassan came through, moved a bunch of keffiyehs to help the guy feed his family. And in return, the shopkeeper donated hundreds of keffiyehs to us to support our next film, A Red Road to the West Bank. So yeah—if you’ve been needing a keffiyeh, now’s the time. You’ll be repping #Palestinian resistance and helping us finish this goddamn film. Plus, you’ll be helping me make some goddamn space in my studio. Prices (shipping included): $30 CAD (Canadians) $35 CAD (Americans) $40 CAD (Rest of World) Cheaper for y’all in the States ‘cause your dollar’s evil and strong. Hit the link, cop one, and spread the word. image
There’s been a real drop-off in support for folks in #Gaza lately. Not calling anyone out — just naming what’s happening. There’s a lot going on, and it’s easy for stuff to fall off the radar. But things over in #Palestine haven’t gotten better. They’ve gotten worse. Been talking to folks doing daily support work with people on the ground, and what they’re hearing is this: people feel forgotten. Prices are through the roof — we’re talking $100+ for a bag of flour. Starvation is being used as a weapon. I’ve been supporting Hamza and his family — 40 people just trying to eat. They need about $5,000 to make it through the next stretch. And while the fundraiser might look like it’s raised a bunch, that money’s already long gone. It fed people. It kept folks alive. If you’ve got a few bucks, please chip in. If not, just passing this along makes a difference. https://bit.ly/Help4Hamza
This is your daily reminder that we are living in emergency times. Shit’s not “about to” hit the fan — it already has, and it’s just not evenly distributed yet. As things accelerate, I’ve found myself shifting what I read. Less escapist sci-fi, more grounding in the moments before things cracked open — before the boots came down. This week I borrowed Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell from the library. Felt like time to revisit what resistance looked like in the face of rising authoritarianism. Anyone else making similar shifts in your reading? Got any titles that have helped you stay sharp, stay grounded, or just feel less alone? Drop 'em in the replies. image
