Nothing hits like a barbecue, especially when it’s about good salmon and even better company. That’s why I came thousands of miles to Coast Salish Territories, aka Seattle, to get a taste of some freshly caught Coho from the Quilcene River, grilled to perfection. This isn’t your average cookout. This is the Salish Sea Assembly, an unapologetic, hard-hitting gathering of land defenders, artists, and radicals from across Turtle Island, hosted by Savage Fam’s Ant-Loc and fearless land defender Kanahus Manuel. Check out my video report to see what went down. #DefendTheSalishSea #LandBack #SalishSeaAssembly #IndigenousResistance #NoTransMountain #BigOilResistance #AmplifierFilms #WarriorUp #ProtectOurWaters #SavageFam #TurtleIsland
On November 6th, I woke up in Seattle, shocked at the election results. But my malaise didn't last long as I spent the next two days surrounded by revolutionaries, in an incredible and historical setting to discuss what's at stake when oil tankers start navigating the Salish Sea. We also ate a ridiculous and delicious amount of fish. Big ups to Ant and Kanahus for the invite. Stay tuned for a video report later next week.
