Quick, less edited video to talk about the #Mozilla and #Firefox issue with their recent terms of use, and lackluster explanations:
Wisdom teeth are all out! Currently recuperating in the hospital room, so obviously, no videos for the end of the week, and we’ll see what I can do for next week :)
Here are the results for the community poll I ran last week, on #Linux desktop and WM customization. The results were a bit surprising to me, and seem to indicate that while a lot of people take advantage of the various layout options, themes and icons don't get changed a lot:
Here is this week's #Linux & #OpenSource News video!
After a bunch of comments pointing out to the fact that my GNOME touch issues were linked to Ubuntu, I did another try, on Fedora, this time, and yeah, it's MUCH better. I also gave a shot to Plasma Mobile (excellent), and Phosh (less excellent on a big screen):
Time for a new poll on the channel, this time on how much, or how little you customize your desktop experience! I moved to Google Forms for this one, as Nextcloud Forms didn't let me split things into sections depending on a previous answer. Still no personal data collected on my end. As always, I'll make a video about the results, to see whether desktop defaults are sane, or if people change them :) Share it widely to make sure it's as representative as possible!
I tried the @TUXEDO InfinityFlex 14, and took the opportunity to look at how well, or badly, major #Linux desktops ran on touchscreens. I tested #KDE and #GNOME, and well, let's say the one that looks the most touch friendly, really wasn't... The laptop is really nice, though!
Time for this week's #Linux and #OpenSource News video, with some weird stuff happening...
Here is this week's #Linux and #OpenSource News video! In this one, we have #AI coming to #Fedora in the future, the lead developer and maintainer on Asahi Linux quitting the kernel after some more #Rust related problems, and a lot more:
Last week, I asked my community to rank #Linux distros, specifically desktop distros. After compiling the results and editing things together, here are the results: the distros my community prefers, the ones they don't like, and judging from how many people ranked each distro, or didn't rank them, I also gave a measure of popularity, even though it's clearly imperfect statistically :)
