So I've printed the "All modern infrastructure" #xkcd and learned a few things: 1. On big surfaces the ironing flowrate is too low. 2. My settings for the "grid" support structures are so phenomenally bad that I accidentally made a statement about code in the backend or under the hood often being really scuffed. 😅 #3DPrinting

I'd bet money on #Gnome experiencing a steady, strong decline in user count once #Cosmic hits 1.0. It'll also be interesting to see whether Gnome extension devs will stick with it or move over and create Cosmic applets. #Linux

Today I learned the #Amazon backend doesn't know that, in fact, their delivery team does not usually work on Sundays. my package got delayed and the website is still *very* sure it will be delivered today. It also says that it isn't "in delivery" yet (duuuh, it's Sunday). Probably get a second message later about "further delays".

The ability of people to blame #Linux for not running optimally on any Windows Laptop out there ever made never ceases to amaze me. Just because Linux can technically run on almost any Designed-For-Windows potato (which in itself is a small miracle) doesn't mean the potato will be perfectly supported or maintained. You gotta blame our technological and economical system, not the FOSS projects that try to deal with piles of shit. Learn to do constructive criticism, or tag your rant if you vent.

What I heard about #Defcon always felt weird, but what's currently circulating really are, if true, nails to its coffin. No way I'd attend a "hacker" conference with fucking military people present (on stage no less), or where the main organizer openly supports the US Army without being friendly but decisively stripped of his position and complimented out of the venue. If this really happened like this that isn't a hacker conference, it's a fucking joke and insult.

So many #Linux enthusiasts are so freaking detached from reality, what the fuck. "Udev… is well-enough exposed that a standard user can manually script it to do things like performing certain tasks when a certain hard drive is plugged in." What kind of "standard user" do these people imagine to exist? Definitely not standard as in "society", but in "my little enthusiast' bubble". This pisses me off so phenomenally.
