#Python junkie, #Rust flunkie. I enjoy fast mountain biking and trail running. Currently employed at Las Cumbres Observatory. Posting from Small Town, central California. Career long web dev now trying to learn more system level programming. Having a blast with #zig and #rust and generally writing software I don't have to pay someone else to run for me :meme_catto: It's always the year of Linux on the Desktop in my house #arch #linux homepage: https://www.pedaldrivenprogramming.com github: https://github.com/Fingel btw: I use Arch
Seems like #GTK 4 really discourages using drag and drop as a method of sorting lists. My implementation is reaching 200+ lines. I get that it's not very accessible, and maybe impossible on devices without a mouse. But I'm struggling to think of an alternative for large lists of items such as music playlists. Using Up/Down buttons to move an item from position 1 to position 100 seems like a lot of presses... #gnome
I’m just going to say it: #asahi #linux was always doomed. The project relies on the Sisyphean effort of a few brilliant devs getting Linux running on hardware that #Apple doesn’t want to run Linux. As soon as these devs burn out or get tired of constantly fighting a closed platform, the project ceases to keep up with new hardware. I’m sure it’s great intellectually for a while but there’s no way it’s sustainable. If you want to run Linux, don’t buy from Apple. It’s that simple.
