Starting a Sashiko project. In my drawings I'm very loose with patterns, but for this embroidery I thought I'd better use guide lines. I hate using chalk and the base fabric is too dark to use erasable marker. So I've sown a grid with red thread. Today I asked my son for a prompt. He just shrugged. I said his sister shook out a full list of possibilities. His defense was that she studied art. He studies math and said I should draw something mathematic, but that it was all abstract until he suddenly remembered a doughnut is a torus in math terminology. I don't think I would have liked to celebrate my parties as student at my parents' house but my kids often celebrate theirs here 😅. We had a pre party dinner for a limited number of friends. I kept it simple and made noodles. How fortunate am I to be able to do this. My heart goes out to those in Gaza. Not only going hungry but living in fear for one's life.
