🚨Today we remember journalist Saleh al-Jafrawi, who was killed in Gaza on October 12 by Israeli-backed gangs, on just the second day of the so-called “ceasefire”Today would have marked his 28th birthday.
In a video recorded before his killing, Saleh spoke about his dream to celebrate this day with his family and loved ones in a free Palestine. Since that moment, tens of thousands have been killed in Gaza, including many like Saleh who were targeted after the ceasefire supposedly began.
Saleh was killed one day after the ceasefire was announced, the same ceasefire he had spent two years hoping and fighting for and one day before his brother was meant to be released from Israeli torture prisons. His killing exposes the reality the world keeps trying to deny: Israel’s violence does not pause, even under a ceasefire. It expands, kills, displaces, and destroys because its very structure depends on it.
As we remember Saleh today, we also carry forward the Palestinian struggle, the most honest way to honor him and every innocent person killed in Gaza.
