Making a website work well in Mobile Safari feels to me *exactly* like making stuff work for IE6 was back in the day: Always some arbitrary behaviour, spending hours to restore normalcy, and the best case scenario is a nasty hack.
Every time I publish a new essay something like this comes up, and this part of the process is always so unpleasant.
Right now I’m staring at this problem in iOS 26 (related to an image carousel) and just… it’s so frustrating and depressing:
