Today in particular I’m just so glad Merrick Garland prioritized “norms” over the U.S. constitution, our republic, and any hope of saving our democracy. Otherwise we might have run the risk of a functioning government. I hope Garland knows that—along with Mitch—cowardice will always be his legacy.

New data from CATO, a right leaning think tank, confirms that only 6.9% of the 204K immigrants ICE arrested are violent, 93% have no violent convictions, & 65% have no convictions, period. Over the past year those violent crimes resulted in ~30 deaths, which I agree is 30 too many. Meanwhile, white US citizen men killed 8200 people. Those who are silent on 8200 murders by white men but loud about 30 deaths by brown & Black men should stop pretending they actually care about violence or life.

As Trump attacks students who dare speak up for basic justice for Palestine, a student at the University of Florida Law School named Preston Damsky wrote a paper arguing that the Constitution only applies to white people & Jews and non-whites should be “abolished by any means necessary.” A Trump-nominated judge named John L. Badalamenti who teaches the class gave Damsky the highest grade and awarded him the Book prize. University of Florida Law School defended the decision as “free speech.”

BREAKING: Federal judge orders Trump regime to release Pro-Palestinian pro-justice activist Mahmoud Khalil. Plain clothes ICE fascists arrested Khalil without a warrant, charge, or any due process. He has been in the custody of immigration agents since March 8 and missed the birth of his son. The Trump regime wanted another 7 days to build the case against Khalil. The Judge denied that request. Khalil is ordered to be released TODAY. A victory for free speech, justice, & the US Constitution✊🏽
