Yesterday in Portland, a U.S. Border Patrol agent shot and wounded two people after the driver allegedly used his vehicle to target officers. The driver, Luis David Nico Moncada, is a Venezuelan national who illegally entered the U.S. in 2022, is suspected to be linked to the Tren de Aragua gang, and has a prior DUI and vehicle-related arrest with a final order of removal. The passenger, Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras, also from Venezuela, entered illegally in 2023, is associated with Tren de Aragua, and has been involved in a prostitution ring and a prior Portland shooting. Both had been released into the U.S. by federal authorities, and investigations into the incident are ongoing. SOURCE: @DHSgov
