31 August 1876 | Dutch Jew, Abraham de Jong, was born in Amsterdam. A diamond polisher. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Kazerne Dossin in Mechelen on 31 July 1943. He was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

31 August 1892 | A German Sinti, Anton Guttenberger, was born in Markgröningen. In #Zigeunerlager (Gypsy camp) in #Auschwitz II-Birkenau from 18 March 1943. No. Z-4166 He perished in the camp on 26 July 1943.

31 August 1928 | A French Jewish girl, Lea Burstein, was born in Paris. She arrived at #Auschwitz on 10 October 1943 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from #Drancy. She did not survive.

31 August 1926 | A Polish Jew, Dawid Wiśnia, was born in Sochaczew. Deported to #Auschwitz in December 1942 from the ghetto in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki No. 83526 In 1944 he escaped from a transport to Dachau. He joined the US Army & later emigrated to the US. He became a cantor. He passed away in 2021.

31 August 1901 | Pole Franciszek Hrzebiczek was born in Nowy Sącz. Lieutenant in the Polish Army. In #Auschwitz from 16 January 1941. No. 9481 He was shot in the camp on 11 November 1941.

31 August 1923 | A Dutch Jew, Elias Leeger, was born in Amsterdam. In #Auschwitz from 8 August 1942 (no. unknown) He perished in the camp on 14 September 1942.

30 August 1874 | Italian Jew, Alberto Della Seta, was born in Rome. He was deported to #Auschwitz from Rome on 23 August 1943. He was murdered in a gas chamber after the arrival selection.

30 August 1905 | A Polish woman, Wanda Moraczewska, was born in Winniki. A teacher. In #Auschwitz from 13 October 1942. No. 22537 She perished in the camp on 1 December 1942.

30 August 1942 | A transport of 608 Jews deported from the Westerbork transit camp in the occupied Netherlands arrived at Auschwitz After the selection all people were murdered in gas chambers. No one was registered in the camp.
