i am decluttering because i can't move my entire basement to Florida and as part of the process i am throwing out all my music CDs of which there are many ... if my fellow audiophiles learned about this they would probably be horrified but to them this hobby is a matter of fetishism and signaling while to me it is about engineering ... using Spotify as a source instead of CDs won't affect my ability to design speakers in any way ... now actually there IS ( or was ) a high frequency rolloff with streaming around 16 khz or so ... but Spotify is moving to lossless now ... and even if they didn't 90% of audiophiles can't hear those frequencies anyway - they just pretend they can.
