and here is why ultimately i probably won't use U-Pack by ABF Freight:
because the bulkhead requires two people to install. now it probably can be done by one person but this is stress i do not need.
when the movers left i had to retract the ramp myself and it got stuck and i was like OH SHIT - now what ? luckily it got unstuck and i got it in, but i remember getting tired holding up the heavy ramp and trying to make it go in and it not going in and there being nobody to help and just thinking fucked up and it was a shit feeling ...
i just don't want to have that feeling again with the bulkhead. the feeling of being stuck and unable to finish the job - nobody wants to feel that.
so why not have the movers do it then ? well because the movers are paid by the hour. so i want them to quickly move in the heaviest items that go in FIRST against the back wall and are secured with tie downs. then i pay them and they leave. after that i take my time to load the light items that go closer to the door or in this case the bulkhead. that means when it's time to close the door ( or install the bulkhead ) i will be on my own.
and the process is reversed on the other side - i like to start unloading the light items myself and only call the movers for the heavy items. which means again, that i would have to remove the bulkhead myself.
which is a no-go ...
