"Babbel" feels much more modern than Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone and much more High-End than Duolingo
but Pimsleur will always have value in that it can be used while driving or jogging etc. Pimsleur is ancient but timeless.
all computer and app based programs are probably rendered obsolete by Babbel though.
made my first mistake. i thought "buenos dias" meant good day, but actually it means good morning. i also though "buenos tardes" meant good evening but it means good day. and i thought "buenos noches" means good night but it means good evening.

did 2 lessons. got 100% of answers right. it feels TOO easy, in the sense that i don't feel challenged and it is kind of disappointing in that way but as i said - i know from using other programs when you feel challenged it feels good at first but you get fatigued after about an hour.

i am using the web version which allows me to use the force dark mode in the browser
the mobile apps apparently have a dark mode as well but i don't plan on using them

Babbel is really easy. It's made for retards. But that's good because when you do hard lessons you get fatigued fast. If you want to get good at a language you will have to put in a lot of hours so the lessons should be easy so you aren't fatigued in that time.
in my Trips to Florida on several occasions Hotel cleaning ladies would try to speak Spanish to me and although i never had an issue due to not being fluent in Spanish i just felt like it would be a nice flex to speak Spanish
also some of those girls were hot and giving me the eyes and in those times i also wished i was fluent in Spanish
it was always my intention to learn Spanish if i moved to Florida. i don't feel insulted by the need to learn a foreign language while living in America while the invaders can't learn English. quite the opposite - it's just another opportunity for me to feel superior to those animals.
it's brilliant if you think about it - you tell them that you learned Spanish out of respect for their culture but secretly you learned it because you know they are dumb animals incapable of learning human language so you learned their animal language instead.

and doing Spanish lessons in preparation for my move to Florida.
quick research showed that the top 3 solutions for language learning are Babbel, Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone. i already used both Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone in the past and Babbel is the new kid on the block so i decided to try it as well.
after using it for a few minutes my impression is it's basically what Rosetta Stone would be today if they actually kept improving it instead of just letting it stagnate for decades.
Pimsleur is completely different.
Rosetta Stone is now completely pointless when Babbel exists because it's basically the same but better. Pimsleur still has its place because it's different and can be used to compliment Babbel.
namely Babbel requires a SCREEN to use while Pimlseur is based on AUDIO lessons so it can be used while doing cardio or driving etc.
I RECOMMEND YOU USE BOTH.
