Does anyone in the US want to donate (or sell to me for cheap) an Apple M1 or M2 macbook so I can: - Improve the #postmarketOS port for this device - Use it to speed up my pmOS development[1] because using qemu/kvm to test is soooo helpful for the work I do 😁 1) IIUC kvm works under linux on this, unlike on my existing qcom laptop that can't reach el2 without losing remoteprocs 🫠

omg I totally forgot to announce this when I merged it but... #postmarketOS has a new installer for laptops and tablets! 🎉 You can find images at postmarketos.org/download. Currently only pre-built images exist for Lenovo X13s and Generic x86_64, but it's easy to enable building images for other devices if there's enough interest! It uses os-installer[1] on GNOME desktop, and is intended to be booted from USB disk to install pmOS onto local storage 🔥 1.

TIL that there's this major issue with the #matrix protocol where sometimes messages in rooms are just lost. Gone. Poof. We've been losing messages in the pmOS main channel for a few days now, it's pretty frustrating when trying to help folks. They've apparently known about this for years yet there's no public info I can find about it. The only advice is to "recreate the room", which is quite disruptive when there are thousands of participants (and it'll happen again) "This is fine." - @The Matrix.org Foundation

I'll be joining the next Portland Linux/Unix Group clinic on May 18th to help you maaaaybe revive old forgotten devices you totally have laying around with #postmarketOS. Come on by!
