For a quick non-developer translation, what the quoted message would mean is that G'MIC filters could beโฆ
1/ run with on-canvas preview (including the before/after "curtain");
2/ usable as non-destructive filters;
3/ searchable and callable through action search;
4/ given shortcuts;
5/ and moreโฆ
Basically they'd be more integrated into GIMP's standard UI and the ideal workflow, including all the little quality-of-life features of #GEGL filters.
So yeah, it's good news! ๐
