So, which of the big podcast apps support video? Apps representing 8.38% of all downloads - yes! Apps representing 43% - yeah, kind-of Apps representing 2.5% - not really but it's video I guess Apps representing 46% of all downloads - no, not at all.
Fun fact (for a story in Tuesday's Podnews) - the Podcast Index currently contains 113,597 open RSS video podcasts - 94% of which use `.mp4` files.
I'm curious. The MYGGBETT door/window sensor, from IKEA. (Not available, yet, in Australia). "Based on the universal standard Matter" - does this mean that it just works with anything that works with Matter? Seemingly looks as if it does. (I have a few Thread routers, hidden in Google devices). This is quite boring, but I'm in Florida in mid Jan, and there's an IKEA a short drive away. Thinking of grabbing a number of these - so cheap at $7.99 (AUD $12.50-ish after tax). The cheapest equivalent here is AUD $55! https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/myggbett-door-window-sensor-smart-60617641/
Fun to flick through the 2006 book "Tricks of the Podcasting Masters" by Rob Walch and Mur Lafferty. Peppered with fun humour and the whole book remains surprisingly undated. (The screenshots of the websites - which are all over the book - certainly are though!) image
Double apostrophe abuse in the new Betty’s Burgers menu. You’d thought with a name like that, they’d know. image
Curious to spot that the BBC’s own “Britbox” streaming service here in Australia doesn’t offer BBC News channel. I mean, you’d have thought… no. It’s free on the BBC website (in Australia) here. But not on the BBC’s own Britbox.
