Known to many as the “Palenque Astronaut,” the intricate depiction shows Pakal seemingly reclining at the center of a complex, almost mechanical structure. His posture, the foot pedal, and what some interpret as exhaust flames have led ancient astronaut theorists to propose a staggering idea:
