I have had to restart Explorer on Windows 11 because it froze or crashed or had a weird bug more times this year than I have had to restart the Finder on macOS in 20 years. I'm not trying to start a whole Mac-vs-Windows thing (for one thing, I'm typing this on a PC, and for another, I know many of you turn your nose up at both), but this is getting out of hand.
How dare Ukraine. Don’t they understand it’s wrong to attack someone’s home? https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/trump-zelenskiy-talks-yield-no-progress-ukraine-russia-territorial-issues-2025-12-29/
Do you remember voting in this poll?
Scientists baffled, unable to determine what day it is.
One reason you should care about problems that don’t affect you personally is because, actually, they do.
Mastodon may be the only online service I use literally every day that clears the admittedly low bar of not being engineered to extract anything from me.
PC makers are planning to ship more laptops with just 8 GB in 2026 to deal with the RAM shortage. This got me curious, so I've been watching Task Manager to see memory usage on my Windows 11 system with 16 GB of RAM. 9 apps running: 97% Quit 3 apps: 91% Quit 3 more apps: 82% Quit 1 more (2 left): 88% (?!) Quit everything: 71%. 8 GB of RAM on a phone, a ChromeBook, hell, even on an M1 MacBook Air? Fine. But a Windows 11 PC with 8 GB of memory is going to STARVE.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and sharing my wife's art. Kourtney was really touched by how popular the first one of these posts was on Sunday, too. If we keep this up, maybe we can lure her back to Mastodon! Which would be awesome. For you all, anyhow. I, on the other hand, will be in *so* much trouble...

I’m sorry, am I making it weird? How about now? How about now?
