Just finished C.S. Lewis's 'Till We Have Faces,' and it unexpectedly touched my heart! 💓 This gave me new insight on faith and suffering. Read my reflections on this incredible book here: naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzppqjvy7wj066jdvrps3e6av6rs4ukg0yln0lvcj00usxem0k2cy2qqxnzde5xqmrgvps8y6rgvpj7ezxqg
image Hermes, the Divine Messenger I have always felt fascinated by Greek mythology. One of the most impressive Olympians is Hermes, the son of Zeus, king of the gods, and Maia, one of the Pleiades. He was renowned for his ability to traverse between different realms. As the messenger of the gods, he acted as a link between the divine and the human, carrying messages between the gods and mortals on earth. In his role as the psychopomp, or guide of souls, he escorted the dead on the hazardous journey from the world of the living to the realm of the dead. Lately, I find myself thinking about Hermes and his ability to move seamlessly between realms. In today’s society, things feel more polarized than ever, especially in the United States as the presidential elections approach. We find ourselves trapped in echo chambers that create divisions as deep and overwhelming as the Styx, the river that separates the living from the realm of the dead. This is why, when someone has the extraordinary ability to communicate effectively with those holding differing viewpoints, it’s so refreshing and rare—like being in the presence of a divine messenger. Finding inspiration in Hermes, we can navigate the challenges of our time by becoming more like him—moving across the heavens, the earth, and the underworld—bridging gaps with intelligence, diplomacy, and negotiation.
After an interesting conversation about Nostr with my dear friend @Tico 🇨🇷, during which I told him that although I understand and support what it stands for (freedom of speech and censorship resistance), I don’t find Nostr engaging; I have to remind myself to come here and see what’s going on (and I rarely do). I guess I’m not following the right people or finding content that I like and find interesting (if you have tips on this, let me know). He patiently listened and reflected on what I was saying, and what I took away from the conversation was, 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' So, I’ll try to be more active and might share some silly things that I like, despite knowing that it will feel like I’m talking to a void and that probably no one will ever read my posts 😜 . Thanks @Tico 🇨🇷 I appreciate your patience 🙏
