#AgeVerification: what's the harm?
In which I distill a lot of casual pub chats I've had with friends into a layperson's guide to the #OnlineSafetyAct. What it is, the problems it causes, and why you should definitely care.
I hope you all get a good night’s sleep tonight because I’ve got a 5000 word rant about the Online Safety Act that I imagine you’ll all be eager to read tomorrow. My kingdom for an editor 😭

My top writing tip is that you should not place words and punctuation in a sentence based solely on rules dictated by dead people. Use words and punctuation as your soul directs. All that matters is that your readers understand you, and feel what you want them to feel.
My second best writing tip is to put more cocks in your story.
Love that every now and then some kind soul will spot a name I've used on a document or in an email somewhere, and message me urgently to let me know I've accidentally doxxed myself.
There are LOADS of these out there. Most of them are 'Sarah', but there are a few more as well. I promise none of them are my real name.
I have only ever accidentally doxxed myself once, and everyone involved has very kindly agreed to suffer temporary amnesia on that front.
