The hike across the Roan Highlands from the base of Roan High Knob on the NC/TN border is one of the most beautiful day trips in the Eastern US. It’s a place I’ll revisit for the rest of my life. #hiking #AppalachianTrail image

Today’s #AppalachianTrail memories, entering New Hampshire, passing through Hanover, home of Dartmouth University which offers showers to hikers. Spent a rainy night in this shelter with a weird guy who pitched his tent in it. Got up the next morning and went the wrong way on the trail #hiking image

On this day on our #AppalachianTrail journey, we hiked 20 miles before 4pm. We emerged from the woods to this quaint New England community where we met a former hiker who fed us and put us up for the night before sending us on way north into New Hampshire the next day.
