I made a quick #video showing the new functionality of my wifi receipt printer. I can print little pictures now, straight from my clipboard. Very cool. The data is transmitted over MQTT, so no printer driver bullshit is involved. Plaintext works too, and I have a bash helper to print whatever I pipe to it. image
Working on getting my receipt printer and scripts set up to print images! Working pretty well. I copy something into my clipboard, then type ctrl+alt+r. Based on the type of data in the clipboard it either prints the text or resizes the image to 384x384 and prints it out greyscale. Imagemagick is very rad. The receipt printer is connected to wifi and listening on MQTT, so I can print from automations or whatever. Pretty neato. image

Alright, time to edit this 70GB of footage down to a youtube video about fixing our pool-cleaning robot. Plus recording narration. I recorded the whole thing on a gopro, rather than my phone. We'll see how that goes.
I have just cut over to a pre-built caddy docker image that includes the cloudflare plugin, so I don't have to build my own image. Seems to be working fine! Now my What's Up Docker container will be able to alert me when my caddy is out of date. #homelab #caddy #docker #cloudflare

Today I'm making another batch of rocky road ice cream. This time with the gummy bears swapped for Turkish delight. My extensive testing revealed that Turkish delight is softer when frozen as compared to gummy bears. I'm also including dark chocolate, coconut and marshmallows. Family pressure means I have to add the crushed peanuts afterwards. The base is a custard made from 2 cups cream, 1 cup milk, ¾ cup sugar, 4 egg yolks, 1 tbsp vanilla essence, sous vide at 80°C. Perfect every time. image
