Trying to imagine the news coverage if Hamas ambushed and then point-blank executed a team of Israeli medics, then buried 15 in a mass grave along with their ambulances. My great grand children would hear about it.
As Ravid says, the NYT for instance went out on a limb, initially refusing to cover a massive story getting global attention because its sources in the IDF were telling the paper there was nothing to see. Then under pressure they finally ran a ridiculous he said/she said in which they professed to have forgotten how to do basic journalism and gave credence to the IDF’s absurd new addition to the lexicon of lies, that the ambulances were “advancing suspiciously.” Even the Times now, which is 100% aligned with Israel’s war aims, will be at least somewhat reluctant to take the IDF’s word about the next massacre. The effect of all this will only be felt long term.
