Zaher Al-Wahidi, Director of the Health Information Center at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, reported severe shortages in medical supplies across the Gaza Strip.
The shortage of medicines has reached 52%, while deficits in medical and laboratory materials are around 71%, significantly limiting the ability of medical staff to diagnose diseases and perform essential tests.
Medications for chronic disease patients are nearly 63% short, depriving thousands of regular treatment, with cancer patients particularly affected, as over 70% of their medicines are unavailable, disrupting chemotherapy schedules and threatening their health.
Hospitals are also facing critical shortages of intensive care, anesthesia, surgical, and emergency medications, raising concerns that medical laboratories could cease functioning, jeopardizing essential diagnostic testing.
