My wife and I were discussing how the government's return to office mandate was going to affect people in our area. A ton of people moved out here to the suburbs from Northern Virginia and DC during the height of the pandemic to work remotely. They were mostly wealthy people who bought up all the inexpensive houses out here, sometimes sight unseen, and quickly caused housing prices here to skyrocket. Now those people are either going to move away or be out of a job, which is going to hurt our local economy and small businesses. This whole thing sucks.
