#VisibleMending 2025 recap: I have fixed about 25 items for a total value of 700 euros. That's an average of 28 euros. One item broke again: the zipper in a handbag. There was some repurposing: dishcloths out of towels. There were four adaptations rather than mends: making a very straight shirt fit a curvy body better, undoing two turtlenecks, and folding back extra long sleeves in a decorative way. I'm especially proud of putting patches on a trolley, my sashiko jeans and my perseverance. The crafting community in Mastodon is an inspiration and I would like to keep sharing my mending work, no matter how simple and modest.
#visiblemending or simply adjusting. I bought online a sweater that was one size too big and didn't send it back for two reasons: sustainability and making it last longer (I will need it eventually, my child will grow into it). I have no way to sew or properly fix the sleeves, which are really long. So I folded them back inwards, and they will stay in place thanks to the bit of ribbon. The bow is inside. They have full approval of my hip teen niece :D
