TIL, if you add 'eshell-smart' to the eshell-modules-list in your emacs config, it enables plan9 behavior in the terminal. one of my favorite parts of plan9 is how you can edit any text anywhere in the terminal and resubmit it as a command. its built in to emacs. 👍
