With great sadness we learned yesterday of the peaceful passing of @npub10sh5...m4qw last Saturday. In the last 14 years, as a W3C Invited Expert, Gregg co-edited 9 standards and a dozen other specs. He also implemented them all and contributed test suites that #w3c groups are still using. His implication in the JSON-LD Working Group, that he co-chaired, was instrumental to the success of JSON-LD. For all this, but also his friendliness and good nature, he will be dearly missed.
Today is the anniversary of the release of the web to the world to the world, in 1991, by @npub1rknc...cdxd when he said "Try it" Billions have taken up his call to use the web. W3C, as a steward of this initial gift since 1994, is realizing our vision of making the web work, for everyone – a web designed for the good of its users, that is safe and secure. image
