The Hofje van Noblet in Haarlem is an almshouse built in 1761 for 20 single women over 50. Now reduced to 17. The rooms uniquely still have the original guilt leather wall coverings. The Hofje van Staats in Haarlem, built in 1733 as an almshouse to poor single women over 50. Originally 30 women lived here gratis now reduced to 20 women on public rate rents. The main building is let as a commercial office space.
