Darkness was an essential part of Rodin's work and aesthetics. His works were examined by candlelight. https://hell.twtr.plus/media/627abd170114700a290e16d075bc900cef7675503b72c32957a983a677696a4b.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/8095059230b7b873fc242234b86b3865f02d54b3259d9421e109279fc9fce899.file
Anthony M. Ludovici describes Rodin's well reasoned reactionary sense against fashion and the fashionable. https://hell.twtr.plus/media/4fe58cb0d2f8fe973d8d0ad504b07d39987761193e2fd85c11ac4f0e4569aadf.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/b8d7b57aa4b0f8139be8636f627a6dafae158829d5dcbea77327b605ff6a3c00.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/cef7ac7094427d95f64ca7c0912a4d6a43b7d2ac2ebf97d47c4ab69342abac2b.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/7b2070ff04dd731f9eb92ea53c0f1c572adb3909b332b845d4a7aed9c526af76.file
What a beautifully expressed truth: “The cobbler who gradually learnt to mould leather round a foot with ever multiplied skill became a master in his special branch of industry; and, what was more, could transmit his acquired virtuosity to his offspring.” https://hell.twtr.plus/media/05bcb644a06c04b8514b4c988479e654716bbe3d463ec5a43f45390de9d974b4.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/cdabfb6ad7b38a8eff7f4ea077910d596773f9d4def11bd7125b42638dddd46a.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/b7ab86dc804a1de14848518d012e31cca156d569396ef109774210e2348f91d1.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/e94ebc58a2d2eea378df884c20b70c172c515e9b528e21b45198f77984345430.file
Reading a young Anthony M. Ludovici's account of his time (1906) spent as the personal secretary of the legendary sculptor Auguste Rodin. The old man combined a deeply reactionary mindset with an uncommon love for the working men and women of his country. https://hell.twtr.plus/media/13b683f92c810ce17cadb130d0c81024784ae66e23e54c035293820d1466f433.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/1c8e95da182a643e7b5a6373fc000324b6ee630a24244fc773f3ecac540596c0.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/ff5677506909f829aa4541bf580ae89c27c4fc3ce1fab494437c83bc9c611de4.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/e2f2270f5520ffca7fa5e03bf698b1e09baa3bfd9d3654eed8ebdd304d4db1f6.file
An unusually perceptive and brief biography of Colombian aphorist Nicolás Gómez Dávila by Roberto Pecchioli: "Surrounded by an endless library, he was an extraordinary observer of events and people, to whom he dedicated very short, incisive writings, the “scholia”, which in ancient times were brief notes by scholars in the margins of classical texts, together with comments, exegesis and clarification of the main text. Dàvila's scolii are brilliant, penetrating aphorisms, virtuosities of clarity and conciseness, examples of artistry in the chiselling of words, collected by Mutis in various volumes entitled In the margin of an implicit text (“Escolios a un Texto Implícito”). For Dàvila, that text is the unravelling of modernity and postmodernity, the unwelcome spectacle of decadence seen through skeptical eyes." https://www.geopolitika.ru/en/article/gomez-davila-last-reactionary https://hell.twtr.plus/media/dfb117f48b2d4805dff32f2ab80835b093baf98a83e6d13823a7d8ee345031d0.file https://hell.twtr.plus/media/70b53fea6d5a6e8750fa2bb6c2cfd5ef3d101ec18f21eda3bc85e8f810af28dd.file

Plans are afoot to restore the most famous church ruin in Hungary and to reinstate a monastic order in its original location. Fairly, the naysayers have valid points but the truth is that ruins only stay ruins for a little while before they turn to rubble. Better a living monastic community with a splendid church than a pile of stone and ample parking.
