A new day. A new chance to succeed.
Few tasks requiring my attention beyond the normal Friday. The house still needs to be put back together. Mostly just rehanging drapes and some minor furniture adjustments.
I'll put my new calendar up and start building the new year's picture, one frame at a time.
It's still too soon to start a new project of any flavor. Figuring out what parts of last year I want to keep will be enough for now.

I got swept up in a tidal wave of pressing tasks that had no business interrupting my morning quiet time.
That's what I get for looked at my inbox before my inner self in the morning.
Not an auspicious start for an auspicious day but perhaps a good one.
I'm keeping Practice as my word of the year. It did yeoman's work last year, but I still have things I need to Practice.

Workman done. Now the work begins to return the house to order. Drapes re-hung. Furniture put back where it belongs.
Regaining equilibrium will take longer.
Muscles overtaxed already will need extra rest so the recovery may be slowed.
The calendar rolls tomorrow, adding its own small log on the psychological fire.
But the house has become whole again.
We will, too, in time.

The work on the house continues this morning. The crew will be here in a couple of hours. I have a moment to savor the quiet.
I have food and coffee ready for the fam when they wake. We'll all need to be up and moving by the time the crew gets here. With any luck, they'll be done by end of day.
I hope so I have Things To Do tomorrow.
But for the moment, I have some peace and quiet and a fresh brewed cuppa.

Up and moving early this morning in anticipation of the work to begin when the sun gets up.
Maybe.
The day's challenge is less about enduring the process than dealing with the uncertainty.
We've prepared as well as we can. Now we wait, not exactly eagerly, but at least with hope that the work will be worth it, and, that whatever lies ahead, the day will unfold smoothly.
