Why are NHS waiting lists failing to drop? well there are many reasons, but a key point is that each month there are around 2m new 'pathways' to treatment initiated, but only 1.7mn completed. Its a clear capacity issue, which can be managed down through administrative means, but in the end requires, more staff which equals more time & treatments. Its a workforce & capacity planning problem! And that's not going to be solved by AI, Mr Streeting! #health #NHS h/t Roy Lilley/NHSManagers.net
We are still not getting to grips with homelessness. As Anton Roberts (MMU) argues what is needed is a public health approach to homelessness with a clear 'housing first' approach. Not only is this more compassionate towards the individuals who find themselves without a permanent (established) dwelling, it also makes clear economic sense. But that *would* require our political class to see the homeless as deserving of help not merely feckless. #homelessness #politics
Classic LPs for vinyl returnees No.33 Manhattan Transfer. Pastiche Manhattan Transfer represent an arch, knowing form of art pop, based in a knowledge of the 'great American songbook' & the sensibility of stage musicals. This LP, by far their best, distills that into a series of standards all delivered in polished performances that seem to be almost ironic in their intent. Its ideal music to accompany cocktails & remains a cool and sophisticated listen. #VinylCoreCollection #music image
