What happens when Bitcoin enters the polarizing political environment? At Bitcoin Amsterdam, I spoke with Thierry Baudet of the Dutch party Forum voor Democratie about the challenges of bringing Bitcoin into Dutch politics. He said that Dutch citizens are far ahead in adoption, while the government still largely ignores the topic. We also discussed “Bitcoin and Crypto” vs “Bitcoin vs Crypto”🙃 Baudet explained that, as a politician addressing issues like unlimited money printing, CBDCs and privacy, it can be necessary not to pick sides too explicitly. This can quickly be misunderstood, and carries the risk of alienating certain voters. So I’m still curious where he personally stands on the “Bitcoin vs crypto” questio 😅
