This is a particularly salient comment from #Ken #Griffin at this week's American Business Forum. It reminds me of a conversation I had years back with a sales rep for a big manufacturing concern who had a 10-state territory that included Illinois although he wasn't from #Illinois. His comment, "People in #Chicagoland talk about politics more than people in all of the other states I cover combined." An unintentionally telling observation about how government-centric Chicagoland is. No matter your business, everything runs through and/or into government. Illinois' main industry is not agribusiness, logistics or financial services, it is the anti-industry of government and its business is giving builders of businesses the business. Think about the conversations you have on a daily basis in Illinois and how often politics insinuates itself into conversations where, upon reflection, it should be unwelcome and in other places in America it is.

#Illegal #Immigrant from #Somalia has a message for #Americans β€Œ β€œHaha, you work all f*cking day, you don't got sh*t. Thank you for working so hard so I can be home all day free β€Œ I can use my EBT. Go to work for me white boy, white girl. Yeah, go to work for me you f*cking white animals” β€œF*king work for me. Yeah, you f*cking work for me and the US government, they work for me. All of you work for me. Now go to work. Pay them taxes. Take care of me. And my people. All right, this is my land. I control this place. This is my reality. You all gonna be in chain. I'm gonna lock all you guys up. If you don't pay your taxes, you better pay your taxes.” #ICE #CBP #Deport
#Chicago #Mayor #Johnson said the case of Bethany MaGee was an "isolated incident." There are far too many horrific "isolated incidents" on the CTA, which is why the feds have threatened CTA funding up to 25% unless there is a real security plan. This is another heinous crime allegedly committed by a repeat offender who, as Mayor Johnson likes to say, "looks like him." It is Johnson's dangerous worldview against incarcerating repeat offenders that commit terrible crimes like this one and Bethany MaGee's that many say is the problem. It is their justification for the SAFE-T Act and why so many Cook County judges release these dangerous offenders back on the street. image
Watching the #Rudolph the #Red-Nosed #Reindeer intro instantly transports me back to being a kid in my pajamas, sitting on the floor, filled with that pure #Christmas excitement.
I have a feeling this is going to be a big hit this #Christmas. Everybody's been wondering how the #Peanut #gang has been doing for the last 50 years. Honestly, for as old as they are, they're doing better than I expected. 🀣🀣🀣
