I had the privilege of presenting the keynote “Bitcoin class of 2017” and dropping some major truth bombs! Dove into Bitcoin’s transformational role in global energy security and its path to economic sovereignty, inspired by thinkers like Max Keiser and Jason Lowery, and how its mining network promotes efficient, sustainable energy use. Also highlighted the high standards and fierce principles that unite Bitcoiners but sometimes challenge newcomers—especially when the broader industry throws around misleading labels.
Also touched on Bitcoin’s multifaceted potential—as a store of value, payments network (via Lightning), and “freedom tech”—all essential to fostering economic sovereignty and resilience. And also tried to bust the myth that - if you’re building on Bitcoin today, securing VC funding can feel like climbing Everest in flip-flops. 😅
