It's been a while coming, but we are now starting to harvest carrots that we planted in April. This variety is "MoonRaker" and they average about 4 or 5 inches in length (100-110 mm). All planted in a pot ~ 18 inches/ 450mm in diameter and 16 inches/ 400mm deep. It took A LOT of watering to keep them happy during the summer heat, but we now will be able to harvest carrots as needed almost to December. 😀 #BeetBear #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #carrots @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk
We send greetings to all of our gardening friends, both north and south, on the equinox. For us it means less sunlight and colder days ahead. BeetBear is taking the time to clean off his sign on our tool shed door. We're going to spend the day on more garden cleanup and compost duties. #BeetBear #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #Equinox #gardeningau #gardeningNZ @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk image
Well most of the garden is done for the year, but the tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are still going strong. This was the very last of the sunburst squash, as the plants are now in the compost, hopefully cooking out all the pests remaining on the leaves and in the stems. 😀 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk image
