My milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) seems to have exploded. I like the way that the Cleome (Cleome hassleriana) is photo-bombing the shot in the wide view. #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BloomScrolling @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk
My hot compost pile of garden waste is steaming in the early morning chill. Now almost at 160Β°F / 71Β°C. The raspberry canes surrounding the pile have had a great summer and are still ripening more fruit. πŸ˜€ #compost #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk
Squash cleanup: BeetBear goes on ahead to rescue any remaining squashes for sharing out. He also checks the few blossoms that are left to make sure any dozing bees are encouraged to move over to the eggplant flowers so Dad doesn't ruin their day with the chopper. We're about 75% done now so one more push tomorrow will finish it up. Just tomatoes, peppers and eggplant left producing now. Season has flown by! πŸ˜€ #BeetBear #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk image
Spending my time harvesting tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and yellow squash. It's been an excellent year for the Sunburst squash, but it's time has come. Not much in the way of new fruits coming so it's time to clean up the squash patch. Got about ΒΌ of it cleaned up this morning. It's now been added to the compost pile, along with the corn, zucchini, cucumbers and weeds. Set to slow cooker mode ( about 150Β°F/65Β°C). #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #compost @npub1nw7c...g0ek @a place for allotment folk
