BeetBear helped with the harvest this morning,. Kept some & shared out the rest. Small rant: While 99% of the folks who stop by are lovely, there are 1 or 2 jerks. One guy wants me to call him when I pick so he can "take it all". Another asked me to set aside "all the best" stuff & she'd come by to get it when it was convenient for her.They got the answer they deserved. Another very nice day here; not too hot and sky is mostly clear of smoke. Had a chance to dump out my 80 gallon (312 liter) compost tumbler. The mixture of grass clippings and shredded leaves has been "cooking" for a couple of weeks and it's ready to go out as mulch around the eggplant. AND after a 4-day hiatus, corn-fest resumed today. The tomatoes are finally coming in large quantities. Had enough to put out some surplus today. Had a lovely note left in the cart this morning. Did you ever notice that the largest and best tomatoes always grow deep within the support cages and wedged between the cage and a large stem in such a way as it's impossible to extract it without ending up with a handful of mush? It's 78°F (25°C) today and wind is calm, so not too bad outside EXCEPT we are inundated with wildfire smoke and the AQI has soared to 150 (unhealthy). I'm staying indoors a lot today...
