I'm glad I did my picking last evening as the sun was going down, because this morning, at 10:30AM, the heat index was already at 101°F / 38°C and climbing. Not gardener-friendly weather. Anyway, I put out the surplus for the neighbors and it was all taken in under an hour. Veg. details in alt text. Now going back inside for some more ice tea with pineapple juice. Stay cool! #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1v5ap...ny6w
The Ailsa Craig onions are liking this weather and are embiggening nicely. They are looking like they are getting ready to march off... 😀 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1v5ap...ny6w image
Mandatory beauty shot from upstairs window. Garden is 40 x 120 ft /12 x 36.5 m or 4800 ft² /~440 m². From left to right. Beans, okra, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, onions, tomatoes, yellow squash, cucumbers, butternut squash, sweetcorn. Growing in pots not shown: carrots, jalapeños, basil, parsley. Blueberries, raspberries, and apples in another area. It's all downhill from here...😀 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b @npub1v5ap...ny6w image
As the blueberries start to wane, the raspberries are picking up the slack. BeetBear says: "Spot the odd one out." It's getting too hot out again, with a heat index of 98°F (37°C) although we did have a nice rain overnight (.46 inches/12 mm ) 😀 #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #zone6b #BeetBear @npub1v5ap...ny6w #Raspberries image
